A plain-English summary of the data we collect when you shop with Nine & Found, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

What We Collect

When you shop with Nine & Found, we collect the information you give us at checkout: name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, telephone number (where provided), and the details of the order itself. Payment is processed by our payment partners, we never see or store your full card details.

When you browse the site, we automatically receive certain information from your device: IP address, browser type, time zone, and information about the pages you view and how you arrived. This is gathered through Shopify (our hosting platform) and a small number of analytics tools.

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address and your stated preferences. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

How We Use It

We use your information to:

  • Process your order and arrange delivery
  • Communicate with you about your order, delivery and any after-care
  • Screen orders for potential risk or fraud, in line with industry practice
  • Improve and optimise our store, where you allow us to
  • Send you marketing and editorial updates, only where you have opted in
  • Comply with our legal and tax obligations as a UK company

Who We Share It With

We share only the information that is necessary to fulfil your order, and only with carefully selected partners. These include:

  • Shopify, the platform that powers our online store
  • Payment processors, Shopify Payments, PayPal and similar, to take payment securely
  • Delivery partners, UK and international couriers, who receive your name, delivery address and contact details for the purpose of delivery
  • Email service providers, used to send order confirmations and, where you've opted in, newsletters
  • Analytics partners, Google Analytics and similar, to help us understand site usage in aggregate

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, to remember preferences, and to understand how visitors use the site. You can refuse cookies through your browser settings; please note that some parts of the site may not work as well without them. We honour "Do Not Track" signals where technically possible.

Your Rights

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a number of rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • The right to access the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to ask us to correct it if it is wrong
  • The right to ask us to erase it, in certain circumstances
  • The right to object to, or restrict, processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to withdraw consent for marketing at any time

Retention

We hold order and customer information for as long as is needed to fulfil our obligations to you and to comply with our legal and accounting duties, typically seven years after your last order with us, after which records are securely deleted or anonymised.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information using industry-standard practice. Our store is hosted on Shopify's secure infrastructure, payment details are encrypted in transit, and access to customer records inside our studio is restricted to the team members who need it.

Children

Our store is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.

We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The most current version will always be on this page, with the "last updated" date below.
